MentalTeam is driven by enthusiasts who want to help people live a better and happier life every day. We want to support vulnerable families and citizens of different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds who struggle with life’s challenges in order to experience tailwinds in life as fellow human beings.
We want to be part of the development and we want to share and exchange our experience with the outside world.
Zakaria Abdul Rahim came to Denmark in January 2004 together with a group of quota refugees from the UN in Malaysia. His knowledge of the English language and previous interpretation and translation work at the UN have helped him understand Danish society, but many fellow refugees do not have the opportunity to do so. From the start, many refugees have used him as a volunteer communicator, and this has “forced” him to work as a translator and multicultural advisor for both refugees and integration workers at the municipalities, and he founded www.burmatolkecenter.dk in 2011.
After the parents’ upbringing in education and pedagogical thinking, it is absolutely important for life to have an education. But he had never heard words such as educational, cognitive, resource-focused and appreciative pedagogy, although he has been preoccupied with the meaning of those words in his life to promote shared social responsibility in the world community.
After many years of human development and integration efforts abroad and in Denmark, www.mentalteam.dk was founded in 2016.
